Coconut is one of the wonder food on the earth that have all the essential nutrients and multiple health benefits. It is also referred to as Kalpa Vriksha in Sanskrit meaning the tree that supplies all that is need to live.

September 2 has titled “World Coconut Day” by the Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) headquartered at Jakarta, Indonesia.  All coconut-growing nations are members of the APCC.

The festivity is designed as a celebration aimed at creating an awareness about the significance of coconut and its importance in easing scarcity. It is also aimed at to encourage the investment and to develop and promote the coconut industry.

World Coconut Day is very famous in western India, in the union territories of Daman and Diu and in the neighbouring state of Maharashtra and is celebrate till the end of rainy season.

Since coconut has strong antioxidant property and health benefits they can be used to get the following benefits.

Coconut development board (CDB) distribute its various national awards during the season of world coconut day which is celebrated on September 2 of this year.
